Anna Corderll, Los Angeles
U. Could you please share brief information about you and your daughter, such as your place, age, occupation, or any other interesting details you'd like to share?A. I live on the Eastside of Los Angeles. I moved here 11 years ago to study acting and since then I have been writing and acting in films. 18 months ago I had a baby girl, her name is Sigrid.
U. What's currently capturing your interest the most? It could be anything objects, artworks, music, etc.
A. I just finished the miniseries Ripley based on the novel by Patricia Highsmith. It was perfect. Shot by Robert Elswit, every frame is a work of art.
U. What are your and your daughter's favorite fashion items or styles?
A. I have a collection of woven belts from a store in Paris. Sigrid is obsessed with them. If I’m wearing one she’ll make me take it off so she can wear it draped over shoulders. I keep finding them in her toy box.
U. Where is your favorite place to spend time together?
A. After dinner I take Sigrid down into the garden. The light is so beautiful at that time in Los Angeles. We planted the native grass in our garden when I was pregnant with her so that she could run around on it one day. And now she is! It’s very special to see.
U. Do you have a personal health care routine? Have there been any changes or additions since becoming a mother? (routines to maintain balance in your life)
A. It can be difficult to prioritize personal health/ self care right after having a baby. It took me about 6 months to be able to slowly reintroduce a form of routine. The biggest change since having Sigrid has been the type of exercise I do. I’ve found that strength training twice a week has really helped heal the wear and tear on my body that comes with breastfeeding and mothering.
U. As a mother, what do you hope Sigrid will come to cherish and prioritize as she grows into the person she'll become?
A. It has been really interesting to watch Sigrid’s fascination with books. She loves to flip through them on her own as well as be read to. I sometimes feel sad that the world that Sigrid will know is increasingly saturated with screens. I hope she continues to love books as she grows and develops her curiosity for all the different ways she can relate to the world.
U. Reflecting on your experience wearing Urbanic30 clothing for this campaign, could you share your impressions? Which specific product stood out to you the most, and how do you envision styling that product in your daily life?
A. It was lovely to shoot the Urbanic30 campaign because each piece of clothing was crafted so beautifully and felt incredibly comfortable. We shot in my house and every look was something I would actually wear in my daily life so I felt totally at ease. My favorite piece was the suede jacket. It’s casual and luxurious at the same time. I’ve worn it to both the library and to dinner!
