Celebrating Mother’s Day

Gayoung Shin, Seoul

Gayoung Shin (@nugayoung) is an influencer and the mother of a lovely daughter, Taeni, born this year. Through her YouTube channel, where she shares family life and her interests, she introduces her unique style and beauty tips. For this special project, she posed with her daughter in front of Urbanic's camera.
 
U. Please introduce yourself briefly.
G. Hello, I’m Gayoung Shin, and I’ve been on my journey as a mother since January 2024.
 
U. How would you define your style in two words?
G. White, natural. I love wearing white clothes and items that feel as natural as if they’ve always been mine.
 
U. Can you introduce a favorite fashion item that you consider your “classic”?
G. A Gucci nylon shoulder bag I found at a vintage shop two years ago. Since I carry a camera around a lot for my YouTube shoots, this bag is perfect because it holds everything I need. The bamboo handle also adds a nice touch to my simple outfits.
 
U. If the three of you were to go on a trip, where would your first destination be?
G. I’d love to travel to a city filled with nature and people. Australia came to mind as the perfect place. I want to show Taeni the big ocean and trees, and even though she might not remember everything, I’d love for her to experience the culture and people in a bustling city. I’ve been to Sydney before and have such fond memories, so I’d love to visit again with my child.
 
U. As a mother, how do you hope your daughter will grow up?
G. I hope Taeni grows up to love herself and value balance in life. I also hope she becomes a cheerful person, someone who smiles brightly and has a good sense of humor.
 
U. For this Mother’s Day project, you wore Urbanic30 outfits for the shoot. What were your impressions of the clothes?
G. Urbanic30 feels both every day and special. It gives the sense of wearing something unique. The clothes offer comfort and ease. Personally, I loved the white shirt—it’s one of my favorite items to wear. The silhouette is so flattering even when worn casually, and it made me feel great.
